Any driven student or young professional currently residing in or connected to Benin Republic (including Nigerian, Beninese, and other international students).

Do I need to be a coder?

Absolutely not. We actively support and nurture tech, non-tech, and creative career paths alike—from product management and design to marketing and community building.

Is the community free to join?

Yes, our core community on Slack is completely free to join and always will be.

How do I volunteer or intern?

Keep a close eye on our dedicated "Internship/Volunteer" section within the community channels, or feel free to reach out directly to the admin team once you join the Slack workspace.

Our Story

It Started With Knowing the Gap Firsthand.

Decode Benin was founded by someone who studied in Benin Republic, moved into Nigeria's tech industry, and could not stop thinking about the distance between those two experiences.

Benin Republic has universities. It has graduates. It has driven young people who want to build careers in technology. What it does not have — yet — is a structured pathway into the ecosystem.

There is no established pipeline, no bilingual community, no regular bridge between the talent in Cotonou and the opportunities growing in Lagos and across Africa. Adedoyinsolami Adeyeye saw that gap and decided to stop waiting for someone else to fill it.

Decode Benin launched with one goal: make it possible for a student in Benin Republic to access the same networks, skills, and opportunities as their peers in Nigeria or Ghana — starting with giving them the tools to actually compete.

What We Believe.

Learning first.

You cannot connect people to an ecosystem they are not yet equipped to contribute to. We provide access to in-demand skills before we talk about jobs or internships. Competence creates confidence. Confidence creates contribution.

Bilingualism as an asset.

Benin Republic sits between Anglophone and Francophone Africa. That is not a disadvantage. It is a bridge. Decode Benin operates in both English and French because the ecosystem needs connectors, not walls.

Practitioners, not performers.

We do not programme events for visibility. We build programs for outcomes. Every speaker, partner, and scholarship we attach our name to is chosen because it creates real value for the people we serve.

Cross-border by design.

Nigeria and Benin Republic share a border, a time zone, and more opportunity than either country has fully realised. Decode Benin exists to change that.
